Richard Thomas Cook, age 57, of passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 in Montgomery, Alabama. He was born in Trenton New Jersey on June 19, 1960 and grew up on a farm Jacobstown New Jersey. Richard was a free spirit and loved to travel. He lived in many states and started new adventures everywhere he went. When living in New Jersey, Richard was a member of both the Jacobstown and Cookstown Fire Companies.
In Montgomery, Richard was known as a pilot and a mechanic that could fix most anything. He was a Jack of all Trades; a full time flight instructor with primary and advanced students, a Chief flight instructor for Marion Military Academy, a Pilot and Command for a Leer Jet, a FFA inspector for aircraft, a park ranger who performed wildland firefighting.
Richard was a man of many talents, but mostly, he was a man with a heart of gold. He enjoyed being around and helping others. He was always one to lend a helping hand to those in need and was a spontaneous and driven individual. Richard was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed.
Richard is predeceased by his parents Leroy Wayne Cook and Margaret (nee Karaffa) Cook, his brother Roy Cook, his maternal grandmother Margarite Karaffa and his paternal grandmother Naomi Gray.
Richard is survived by his sister, Beatrice Creamer of Fruitland Park, Florida; his brother Joseph Cook of Ewing, New Jersey; nephew Matthew Cook and his children Riley, Mason and Leah; nieces, Ann Haldeman and her husband Clinton D. Haldeman III and their children Marissa and Clinton “Dale”, Tonia Creamer, Maureen Hubbard and her children Crystal and David; and his cousins Joseph Newman, Lenny Newman, Kenny Newman and Kathleen Nelson.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:30AM at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Cemetery, located in Trenton, New Jersey. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, New Jersey.
