Eleanor J. Cannon, age 82, of Cream Ridge passed away Tuesday, November 14 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in New Milford, CT, she was a longtime Cream Ridge resident.
Eleanor was a retired para-legal with the Hiering Law Firm in Toms River. She was a founding member of the Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church in Jacobstown and a member of the Lutheran Women’s group. Eleanor enjoyed sewing and crocheting, collecting stamps and enjoyed video games. She was very organized and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Michael J. Cannon, Sr., her son, Michael J. “Piney” Cannon, Jr.; a sister, Nancy Hayes and a brother, Frederick Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Martin Cannon of Holiday City, NJ; three daughters, Dawn Henry of Valdosta, GA, Linnea Gordon and husband Charles of Bernville, PA and Eleanor Matis and husband Steven of Ashland, VA; a sister, Patricia Haydu and husband Steven of Seymour, CT; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service for Eleanor will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 AM at the Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, 42 Chesterfield-Jacobstown Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
