Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Gibbs

Elizabeth Jane Gibbs, was born on October 6, 1924 to the late Seth and Amelia Bennett in Pemberton, New Jersey.  She passed away peacefully in her sleep, on April 29, 2017, in Lufkin, Texas, where she had lived with her daughter for the past three years. 

Elizabeth Gibbs, better known as “Betty” had been a resident of Jacobstown. She lived with her husband of 56 years, Robert Gibbs, who preceded her in death in 1998. She retired from Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. after 31 years of service.

She is now returned home to be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.  She leaves behind a daughter Conny Fuller and son-in-law Elvis Fuller both of Lufkin TX; three grandsons, Sonny Fuller and Granddaughter- in-law Janie Fuller of Tyler TX, Scott Copeland and Granddaughter-in-law Nina Copeland of Port Lavaca TX and  Adam Fuller and Granddaughter-in-law Christa Fuller of Kennard TX; her granddaughter Amanda Fuller of Lufkin TX; sister-in-law Betty Lutes of Delmar  MD; Brother-in-law Marvin Gibbs and wife Helena Gibbs of Delmar  MD, Virginia Mitchell of Salisbury  MD; 14 Great-grandchildren  and 3 Great-great-grandchildren, along with several loved nieces and nephews and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 9AM to 11AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main St., New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery.

Family and friends, do not sorrow very long.   She has simply joined her Savior, husband, parents and brothers.  She is not gone.  Just not in our sight now.  She shall rise.
