Obituary of Robert J. Temple, Jr.

Robert J. “Bubba” Temple, Jr., age 76, of New Egypt passed away Monday, September 25 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Summit, NJ, he was a resident of New Egypt for the past 26 years.

 

Bubba retired from General Motors after over 27 years of employment, most recently with the GM Assembly Plant in Linden, NJ and was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.  He was a Mason with the Loyalty Lodge #33 F&AM in Union, NJ.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Bubba was a Life Member of the NRA and was a member and former President of the New Jersey Taxidermy Association.  He also enjoyed making his own wine but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

 

Mr. Temple was predeceased by his parents, Anna May (Raub) and Robert Temple, Sr. and a grandson, Victor “Little Vic” Lovero.  He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Diane (Jeck) Temple; six children, Kenneth Temple and wife Julia of North Plainfield, Kimberly Temple and husband Mario Simoes of Elizabeth, Donna Temple and husband Christopher Invidiata of Kew Gardens, NY, Victor Lovero of South Amboy, Troy Lovero and wife Lorraine of Union Beach and Paul Pyne and wife Crisanne of Parkville, MD; nine grandchildren, Kristopher Temple, Amelia Temple, Ashley Pyne, Allison Pyne, Christian Pyne, Gavin Olsen, Kay-Leigh Olsen, Madison Olsen and Ry-Leigh Johnson; a great granddaughter, Alicia Pyne; a brother, Gary Temple of New Egypt; two sisters, Shirley Dillon and husband Joseph of Basking Ridge and Joyce VanBrummelen and husband John of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

 

Calling hours for Bubba will be held on Wednesday, September 27 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM with Masonic Services at 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com).  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Mr. Temple can be made to either the NRA (www.nra.org) or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org).
