I recognized the picture of "young John" top of his tribute video. He asked me to Email an image of it to Michael when needed for his 5 year background. John always had something to tell about his family, whether it was Michael's extensive travels with the government or his grandson's football games. He was soo proud of his family. I think we discussed just about everything from army days to work at Ft Monmouth to working the election polls. John always said how good he felt after time at the gym. I thought he would outlive me. I will miss John.

Q: What will you never forget about John? A: John was a regular at my USO Pax terminal JBMDL for many many years. Always coming in asking for " Words of Wisdom". He always received from others in the room. However, I can't recall a time where he shared some of his wisdom. If we didn't see him for 2 or more days, we began to be concerned. Someone would call him and checkup on him. Days later, he would te us he was in Toms River or with his sons/grandsons. John was a welcome guest in the USO when I managed it for a very long time. He will be missed, such a sweet man, always on the go. RIP John.

I am so sorry for your loss. I work for the USO and first met him a couple of days into my employment and instantly loved him. He always came in the lounge, with a big smile on his face and say “this place is hopping” even when there was no one else in the lounge. We all looked forward to seeing him. I truly loved getting to talk to him about our military careers, what he was up to for the day, and hearing stories about his grandchildren. He loved his family so much and was so proud of his kids and grandkids. He lit up whenever he was talking about them. I always looked forward to walking into the lounge, being greeted with his smile and hearing him say “it’s words of wisdom” followed by me asking him for words of wisdom. He was so witty, kind, and a wealth of knowledge. He is already so missed and I am so happy to have known him for as long as I did.
