Forrest E. “Jim” “Skip” South, Jr., age 75, of New Egypt passed away Friday, February 15 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Hamilton with his loving family by his side.  Born in Mt. Holly, he was a lifetime New Egypt/Cookstown resident.

 

Jim retired from the Naval Air Propulsion Center in Ewing, NJ where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.  He had an upbeat attitude in life and could easily make friends with anyone he met.  Jim loved his family and his many friends whom he also considered family.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Forrest South, Sr.; his beloved wife, Linda (Kise) South who he is reunited with and a brother, Charles South.  Jim is survived by a son, James D. South; a granddaughter, Rachel South; a sister-in-law, Sally Moore; nieces, Lisa Byrne and husband Randy, Holly Hoff and husband Sean and Celia Byrne; nephews, Kelly South and wife Lisa and their son Dillon, Edward Moore and Justin Byrne and wife Amy.  Jim is also survived by a special circle of close friends.

 

Funeral services and interment for Jim will be private at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (www.TilghmanFH.com).
