Obituary of Michael "Mickey" Muccie, Jr.

Michael “Mickey” Muccie, Jr., age 74, of New Egypt, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2019 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Trenton to the late Michael and Florence Muccie on May 19, 1944. Michael worked as a utility man for Rhein Chemie Corporation for several years before his retirement. He married the love of his life, Barbara Cordwell in 1966 and the couple had two children. Michael was a member of the Robbinsville SDA church and had many hobbies. He loved fishing, playing pool, going to the casinos and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in-law and friend who will be deeply missed.

Michael is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Florence Muccie and sister Theresa Runof.

He leaves behind his adored wife of 52 years, Barbara Muccie (nee Cordwell) of New Egypt; two sons, Michael M. Muccie, III and his fiancé Colleen Maher of New Egypt and Duane R. Muccie and wife Trishia of Wrightstown; sister Sue Gorish and husband Lee of Ewing Twp.; brother-in-laws, Robert Runof of Trenton and George Cordwell and wife Elvada of Wisconsin; sister-in-laws Marian Stevens and husband Scottie of North Carolina, Doris Hensley and husband Ronald of Wrightstown and Betty Gwinn of New Egypt; along with several nieces and nephews and his two canine companions, Coco and Cosmo.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 11AM to 1PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 1PM with interment to follow at Zion Cemetery in New Egypt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael’s memory to the Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123.
