Obituary of Rita F. Blum

Rita F. Blum, age 89, of North Hanover Township passed away Friday, July 5 at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton.  Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a lifetime area resident.

Before her retirement, Rita was the manager of the Hanover Golf Course in North Hanover Township, founded by her and her husband.  They were also the owners of Blunt’s Furniture and Appliance in New Egypt.  She was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.  Most of all, she enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City with her family.

Rita was predeceased by her husband, Bernard “Barney” Blum, her parents, Frederick Fischer and Helen Hutmann Fischer Povia, and her sister, Dolores Worthington.  She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Donna Blum of Browns Mills, Rick and Shawn McKeon-Blum of Allentown and Randy and Robin Blum of Columbus; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a special niece, Lynn Zamparelli of Hamilton. 

A memorial service for Rita will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.  Calling hours will be on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
