Obituary of Edward R. Seles

Edward R. Seles, age 85, of Freehold passed away Tuesday, August 13 at his home at Applewood Estates in Freehold.  Born in Queens, NY to the late John and Katherine (Trillinger) Seles, he was a resident of Freehold for the past 4 years and was a former resident of Jensen’s Deep Run Community in Cream Ridge from 1999 to 2015.

 

Ed served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957.  He retired in 1999 from Banker’s Trust in Manhattan after 40 years of dedicated service.  Ed was a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt.  He served on the Safety and Security Committee at Applewood, was an avid reader, enjoyed building models in his earlier years and he enjoyed antique cars and going to car shows.  One of his favorite things to do was playing “bone hockey” with his grand-pugs.

 

Ed was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John Seles.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Edwina (Cooper) Seles; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Lepping of Millstone; a special nephew, Joseph Mickol of Florida and his grand-pugs.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ed will be held on Monday, August 19 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown.  Calling hours will be on Sunday afternoon, August 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.TilghmanFH.com).
