Lorraine Layton, age 73, passed away at her home in Clover, SC with family at her side on Wednesday October 23, 2019. Born in Allentown, NJ, she was a longtime resident of New Egypt before moving to South Carolina.

Lorraine was a beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Layton Sr. and William D. Layton Sr. Much loved mother of Joseph Layton Jr, Andrew Layton, Cathy Rich, and she opened her heart to Jennifer Stone who was like a daughter to her for many years. Lorraine was a cherished grandmother of Erica, Cody, Logan, Gabrielle, Jessie, AJ, Nicholas, and Helen. She was mimi to Jason and Codi, as well as their children. Her great grandchildren Aria and Aurora loved their Gigi.  Daughter of the late Andrew (Jack) Hurley and Dorothy Powell. Dear sister of Gary Hurley and Constance Haines-Hurley. Dear friend of Arlene, Harold, and family of Brazil. Sister-in-law of Lucy Dugan, Russell Layton, Raymond and Mary Layton.  Lorraine is remembered by many nieces and nephews as well.

She was renowned for her baking and craft skills. As well as welcoming everybody and anybody with open arms and blessing us all with her heart of gold. Lorraine did not have one mean bone in her body and made sure everyone was taken care of before herself no matter the circumstances. Anyone visiting knew they would enjoy great cooking and be well loved. Lorraine will truly be missed by all family, friends, and anyone who crossed her path over the years.
