Obituary of Bernard M. McNelis

Bernard M. McNelis, age 80, of Cream Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at home. He was born in McAdoo, Pennsylvania to the late William and Agnes (Spaide) McNelis on November 14, 1940. He retired as a Design Specialist from Lockheed Martin in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Bernard was a parishioner at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church and worked on various fundraising committees and served on the Parish Council. He was 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Bernard was a member of the Deep Run Community Club where he served as President for two years. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, camping and fishing, and spending his summers in Cape May. Bernard was also a longtime member of the Delaware Valley Campers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that will be missed deeply. Bernard is predeceased by his parents William and Agnes (nee Spaide) McNelis; his siblings, Bill, Bob, and MaryLou. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years Janice (Dombroski) McNelis; his four children, Patrick McNelis and wife Pamela, Paul McNelis, Sean McNelis, and Anne Marie Walters and husband Michael; five grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel, Amber, Paige and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Jazelle, Christian, and Gus; his brother, Thomas “Tim” McNelis and wife Betty Lou; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM for a Memorial Mass at Church of the Assumption located at 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ, 08562 with burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery in New Egypt. For those not able to attend services in person, a live stream on zoom will be available. Please contact the funeral home for information. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bernard’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or at www.alz.org. Facial coverings and social distancing are required. All arrangements are made under the direction Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt,
