Obituary of Gregory M. Holden

Greg Holden, loving husband, devoted father, caring son and brother passed away suddenly at home on April 9, 2021. Greg was a brilliant chemist, talented guitarist, household handyman, and all around Superman. Born in Indianapolis, Greg grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania where he attended Reading High School. He was an excellent track and field man and held several competition records. He attended Mt. St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland where he met his wife, Patti Holden, the love of his life. He graduated with a B.S. in biochemistry. His career spanned a number of manufacturing concerns and most recently, as an analytical chemist in the dental industry. He was an avid follower of Philadelphia Sports, especially the Phillies and the Flyers. He was an optimistic person who believed in the truth and beauty of all things scientific. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his sons, Dan and Alex Holden, his mother, Marilyn Holden, his sisters Ralli Holden Sirak and Margy (Steve) Lenhard, as well as a large extended family including his nouna and nouno, Fran and Richard Miller, his niece and nephews, and many cousins. Friends and family are invited to mourn with Greg’s immediate family at their home on May 1, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. Social distancing and masks are required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Greg’s memory can be made to either the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or to the Mount Laurel EMS (www.mlems.org/donate/).
