Betty Jane Kelly, age 93, longtime resident of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Lambertville to the late Harry and Olive Scarborough. Betty enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, puzzles, and arts and crafts. She attended a senior adult center, Elite Caring in Ewing where she did arts and crafts Betty liked taking trips with her family to Parks Casino. She loved and was in love with the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Betty absolutely loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Bob Kelly; her son, Jimmy Alan Haldeman; her parents, Harry and Olive (nee Joiner) Scarborough; and her three siblings, Malcom Scarborough, Doris Bilotti, and Jean Altenburger. She leaves behind her three children, Clinton Haldeman, Jr., Debra Kaplan and husband William, and Lorraine Mannifield and husband Keith; her brother, Harry Scarborugh, Jr.; five grandchildren, Pam, Jim, Chip, Sherrie and husband Chris, and Joe and wife Joanne; eight great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren,; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation for Betty on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 12 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Holcombe Riverview Cemetery located at Route 29, Lambertville, NJ 08530.
