Obituary of Douglas A. Lewis
Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Douglas A. Lewis, age 67, recently a resident of Largo, FL., passed away at his home on Thursday, February 13, 2025. “Doug” was born in Trenton, NJ on August 4, 1957 to Arthur and Caroline Lewis and spent his school years in North Hanover Township (Jacobstown).
Doug was a fun-loving free spirit and often a risk taker who tried his hand at whatever interested him. His fun-loving nature assured a ready smile and laugh at jokes, pranks, or family stories and this was still in place even as he faced many challenges at the end of his life.
After a stint in the US Navy, Doug worked many years as a union laborer in Downers Grove, IL and later resided in Oregon where he came to love the redwood groves along Oregon’s coast.
Doug is predeceased by father, Arthur W. Lewis; his mother, Caroline M. Lewis; his brother, Lee E. Lewis. He is survived by his two sons whom he loved, Jacob (wife Virginia) of Chicago, IL and Jeremiah Lewis of Manteca, CA; his three sisters, Lindamay Stotarek of Cape May County, Barbara Kasony (who passed away on February 18, 2025), and Joy Pancko (Anthony) of Custer, SD; family member, Louis Moretto (Bonnie); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Doug on March 6, 2025 at 2 PM at Jacobstown Cemetery, Schoolhouse Road, Jacobstown, NJ 08562. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home.
