Jerreard A. Mullen, (Jerry) age 95, of New Egypt passed away Thursday, May 1st at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hamilton, N.J. on August 27th, 1929 to the late Nettie and William Mullen, he was the last born of their 7 children. Jerry had been a long life resident of New Egypt since 1944.
Jerreard was a hard worker who wore many hats. He started out working in the fields at a young age and then at the local chicken farm on Brindletown Road where Lauren Lane is now. He proudly served in the navy from 1950 - 1954 as a machinist mate 1st class in the engine room on the destroyer the U.S.S. Knapp 653. Where he received the National Defense Service Metal, Korean Service Metal, Navy Occupation Service Metal (European Clasp) and the U.N. Service Metal. 1956 through the early 60s after obtaining his boiler license he was the operating engineer at Walson Army Hospital. He was a roofer working for Henry R. Fell roofing company for many years but made his career working at Fort Dix in the carpenter shop where he retired as the boss and friend of many of his colleagues in 1988.
Jerry excelled in many of his jobs, but his greatest accomplishment was his family and friends. Married in 1955 to Alice V. Schmidt (1933 -2022) they had 3 loving children in their 67 yrs together. Jerry is survived by Kevin Mullen and wife
Patrice, Lisa Mullen Birkner and husband James, Tracy and husband Tom; grandchildren, Jared Mullen, Jeremy Cranmer and wife Casandra, Alicia Cranmer, Katey, Tommy and Johnny; and great grandchildren, James, Leah, Abigail and Sophia Cranmer and Shelby Baskan. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Jerry on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 11 AM to 1 PM at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish located at 28 Monmouth Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562. A Funeral services for Jerry will begin at 1 PM at the the church. with interment to follow at Jacobstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at
