Obituary of Victor P Owens

Please share a memory of Victor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Victor Paul Owens left us far too soon on the morning July 27, 2025 after being struck by a drunk driver. He was just 39. Born in Huntington, WV on August 29, 1985 to Dean and Liz Owens, Victor lived the military brat life—constantly on the move, always making new friends, and somehow managing to leave a piece of his heart wherever he went. He graduated from New Egypt High School in New Jersey in 2003, but his roots are planted all across the country. Victor was not afraid to try just about anything and loved to have a good time. He was a great soccer player, earned his Eagle Scout, had his private pilot’s license. He had a guitar in his hand more often than not, and that crooked grin of his never stayed away for long. He was into roller blading, motorcycles, martial arts, and could even play the piano upside down. If there was fun to be had, Vic was in the middle of it. Vic loved hard and adored his friends and family, especially his children. He was chaotic, brilliant, frustrating, hilarious and tender. He was too much and never enough all at the same time. Victor was loved by everyone who met him and his smile lit up every room. He had an electric personality that drew people in from all walks of life. He had many struggles in his short life, but through it all he had a heart of gold and his main desire in life, no matter his circumstances, was to help people. Victor literally gave people the shirt off his back and his last dollar to get something to eat on more than one occasion. Victors faith journey was messy and beautiful. He believed in Jesus Christ and always came back to the light he knew, even through darkness. We are devastated at the loss of our son, dad, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend and look forward to a time we can be with him again. However, we have peace knowing he is now with his Savior, free from pain, and finally able to rest in healing and truth. Victor is survived by his parents Dean and Liz Owens, his siblings Margo (Tim) Davis, Angela Western, and Michael (Alyssa) Owens as well as his 4 beloved children- Luigi, Romeo, Victoria, and Jaxen. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Sally Mullaney Owens, and many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles who love him dearly. He is now reunited with his grandparents Clara and Skip Kelley, Larry Navy, and Ron Owens, along his precious nieces Abigail Petersen and Leamarie Western. If you were lucky enough to know Victor, you probably have a wild story and a smile that still hurts. That’s how we’ll remember him. That’s how we’ll carry him forward. Occasionally, if you can, look up to Heaven and throw a smile and a nod to Vic, we are sure he will smile and nod back. A graveside service will be held on August 8, 2025 at 11:30am at Parkview Cemetery at Kirby’s Mill, 25 Fostertown Rd, Medford, NJ.
