Barbara “Betty” Wimmer, age 89, long time resident of New Egypt, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Complete Care at Arbors in Toms River. She was born on July 28, 1936 in Germany to the late Michael and Maria Petz. Betty came to the United States with her husband Fritz in 1955. She started as a dishwasher at Cortis Diner in Wrightstown, NJ. Soon after, she was hired by The Bank of Mid-Jersey, where she retired after 20 years. Betty then helped her husband of 49 years with his business Fritz’s Carpet Sales until he passed away in 2004. She enjoyed knitting and playing bingo. Betty was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed. Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband, Fritz Wimmer; her son James F. Wimmer; her parents, Michael and Maria Petz; her sister and brother-in-law, Walli Plentinger and Sepp; brother-in-law, Helmut Wimmer and her sister-in-law, Irma Pazamickas. She leaves behind her three daughters, Helen, Christine, and Karen and her partner Robert Troisi; her nieces and nephews, Sam and Mary Pazamickas and family; Walter and Laurie Wimmer and family, Renate Plentinger, Rudi Plentinger and his wife Brigitte and their daughters; and her sister-in-law, Joan Luteman. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Betty on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 12 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Jacobstown Cemetery located on School House Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
