Carolyn F. Purcell, age 78, longtime resident of New Egypt, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ. She was born on March 26, 1947 in Trenton to the late Carl and Marian Liedtka. Carolyn was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary where she held the president position. She was also a member of the Plumsted Presbyterian Church. Carolyn loved spending time with her daughter and her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and watching her favorite TV shows; Murder, She Wrote, Perry Mason, and Cheyenne Bodie. Carolyn was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, Carl and Marian (Stevens) Liedtka. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 30+ years, Franklin Purcell, Sr.; her daughter, Cynthia McCarroll and her husband Erik, her three, grandchildren, Nicholas, Ethan and Kiera as well as her three step children ,Frank Purcell, Jr. and his wife Aggie and their daughter Jenna, Captain, Michael Purcell and his wife Kimberlee their three children, David, Jason, and Emily and Mary Purcell and her daughter, Jessica; and her two sisters Marion Phillips and her husband Ed, and Helen Sexton and her husband Frank, and a niece and nephew.
Services for Carolyn are being held private at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
