Obituary of Andrew "Andy" P Harper, Sr.
Please share a memory of Andrew "Andy" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Andrew P. Harper, Sr. (“Andy”), age 58, of New Egypt, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Mt. Holly. Born on October 26, 1967, in Mt. Holly, Andy was the son of the late Andrew and Dolores Harper. He was a lifelong resident of New Egypt and a proud member of the community he served throughout his life.
Andy owned and operated A & L Harper Trucking Co. in New Egypt from 1993 until his passing. Following COVID-19 and a bilateral lung transplant in 2021, he continued working as a truck driver with New Egypt Fuel and Paetzold Construction.
Andy’s strength and determination were most evident after his transplant. He faced immense physical challenges with resilience, courage, and an unwavering will to live. Through every setback, his children and family remained his greatest motivation, and he met each day with grit, perseverance, and quiet strength.
An avid outdoorsman, Andy greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours on the water and regularly participated in fluke fishing tournaments. He especially looked forward to hosting “deer week” each year with his sons and their club, Harper’s & Tilghman’s Hunting Club. Andy could often be found in a hunting blind throughout the year, pursuing a variety of waterfowl and geese with Harper’s Spray and Pray. For him, hunting was about tradition, discipline, and time shared with family—and their loyal lab, Harley.
Andy was well known in the community and generously gave his time through volunteer service. He served as an EMT and held the rank of Captain with the New Egypt First Aid Squad. He also volunteered as a coach for many youth sports, including soccer, basketball, and baseball. Andy was creatively involved with local drama clubs, helping to design and construct elaborate play sets—including an operational volcano, a Ferris wheel that safely held children, and a spaceship. Above all else, his greatest joy was the time he spent with his children and family.
In addition to his parents, Andy was predeceased by his brother, Michael “Mike” Harper.
He is survived by his loving children, Lauren Harper, Andrew Harper, Jr. (AJ), Colton Harper, and Dylan Harper; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Sandy Harper, Timmy and Lynn Harper, TC and Kelly Harper, and Larry and Leigh Harper; his sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Ronnie Tilghman; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
All who knew Andy are invited to attend a memorial gathering and service on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish – Assumption Church, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
