Donna M. Winkler, age 83, former resident of Yardville, NJ passed away on March 7, 2026 at Masonic Village in Burlington. She was born on October 1,1942 in Trenton to the late Donald and Catherine Waters.
Donna worked as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years in the Emergency Room at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, where nursing was not only her lifelong career but also her passion. She was a faithful parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she also volunteered her time and help for the welfare of others. Donna’s interests included knitting, reading, traveling, and classical music. She was an active member of the Contemporary Club in Trenton and enjoyed her role as the club treasurer, but mostly the sense of camaraderie among the women she met there. Donna was a very generous and kind person who cherished her contribution to various organizations, as she truly loved helping others. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Donna is predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert P. Winkler; her parents, Donald and Catherine (nee Kerwick) Waters; and her sister, Sharon Waters. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Wig and Donna McKeown, their respective husbands, Jake and James; her four grandchildren, Ryan Wig and wife Kristy, Abigail Wig, Eric Wig, and Tierney McKeown; her two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Ethan Wig; her siblings, Kevin Waters, and Kathleen Burns; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved friend, Patty St. John.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all the wonderful caregivers on the Memory Care unit at Masonic Village. The care Donna received over the past five and a half years was exceptional in more ways than the family can adequately express. They would also like to acknowledge the Samaritan Hospice Team for their kindness and compassion during her final days.
Services for Donna are being held privately per the family’s wishes. All arrangements are being held under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt, NJ.
