Obituary of Thomas H. Madden, III

Thomas H. Madden III, age 73, of Cream Ridge, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. Tom was born in Newark on October 19, 1952 to Thomas II and Alice Madden. He lived in Freehold before moving to Cream Ridge 20 years ago. Tom was a Systems Analyst for the Hess Corporation, where he worked for 40 years before retiring. Tom met the love of his life, Dianne, while attending the College of Santa Fe, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration. During his college years, he was also a proud brother of the TKE Fraternity. He later went on to receive his Master of Business Administration from Saint John’s University. Tom was an avid fan of New York sports teams, especially the Jets, Mets, Rangers and Knicks; he enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, trips to Atlantic City and the Bahamas; drinking Coors Light, and listening to music, his favorite bands were the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Tom was happiest when spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, dad, and Pop Pop who will be deeply missed. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas II and Alice Madden; Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dianne; his sons, Paul Madden, and Ryan and his wife Kristin Madden; his daughter, Leanne and her husband John Leone; his grandchildren, Owen, Liam, Emily, Camryn, and Kelli; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at St. Isadore the Farmer / Church of the Assumption Catholic Parish, 28 Monmouth Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
