Obituary of Linda Giberson Black

Linda Giberson Black, age 76, longtime resident of Cream Ridge, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at home. She was born in Allentown, NJ on December 13, 1949 to the late Woodrow and Elizabeth Giberson. Linda retired as an English teacher from Rancocas Valley High School then became a freelance writer. She was a history buff who loved writing about the American Civil War. Her book, “Gettysburg Remembers President Lincoln” was published in 2005. She also wrote several articles for Gettysburg Magazine and other Civil War related publications. Linda and her husband Barry enjoyed visiting the battlefields. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Linda is predeceased by her parents, Woodrow and Elizabeth Giberson, and her two brother-in-laws, Paul Kashella and Joseph Clark. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 51 years, Barry T. Black; her two sisters Mary Ruth Kashella, and Diane E. Clark: She was a beloved “Aunt Linda” to her many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11 AM at Jacobstown Cemetery located on Schoolhouse Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
