Obituary of Garnett M. Hacker

Garnett M. Hacker, age 76, of Cookstown died Wednesday, July 25 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hines, West Virginia, she was a resident of Cookstown for 35 years and formerly of McGuire AFB. Garnett was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6590 in Cookstown and managed the post for over 30 years, she was also the Chaplin of the Ladies Auxiliary and was the Chairwoman for their Cancer Aid and Research Program. She also was a member of the American Legion Post 184 in Wildwood. Wife of the late Robert A. Hacker, she is survived by three sons, Robert Hacker, Jr. and wife Toni of Eastampton, Kenneth Hacker of Cookstown and Donald Hacker and wife Susan of Burlington; four daughters and sons-in-law, Twila and Carey Pritchett, Kathy and Tom Boesch and Vatina and Jim Fitzgerald all of Cookstown and Dawn “Missy” and Kevin Minnick of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Clifford Moore of Abilene, TX; a sister, Virginia Black of Rocky Gap, VA; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends including a special friend, Donna Wertz of New Egypt. Funeral services for Garnett will be held on Friday, July 27 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road in Wrightstown at 1:30 PM. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Garnett’s memory may be made to the VFW Post 6590 Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid & Research Program, P. O.
