Obituary of James Nulph, Sr.
James S. Nulph, Sr., age 80, of Southampton passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to the late James and Louise Nulph and grew up in California. James graduated from Beaumont High School in 1955. Immediately following high school, James enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving from 1955 to 1959. He married Nancy in 1957 and they had five children. The family moved to New Jersey in 1965 and have been long time residents of Southampton ever since. James was a parishioner of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church and had been a Master Mason since 1965, Pyramid Lodge #92 in New Egypt. James was also the recipient of both a heart transplant in 1995 and a kidney transplant in 2008. He was forever grateful for his donor families, Temple Hospital and Dr. Michael Conrad of Kidney Care in Hainesport. James was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
James is predeceased by his mother Louise, his father James, his step-mother Ola and his brother Duke. He leaves behind his adored wife of 60 years, Nancy Nulph (nee Parker); his sons, James Jr. and wife Karen of Shamong, David and wife Laura of Southampton, Stephen and wife Patricia of Southampton, John and wife Christine of Mt. Holly, Kenneth and wife Dawn of Southampton; brother, Monty and wife Joanne of Nebraska; sisters, Marlene of Idaho, Janet and husband Ansel of California; grandchildren, James III and wife Estell, Crissy Peck and husband Shawn, Cheryl Nulph, Brandon Nulph, Jesse Nulph, Ciara Nulph, Kaycie Nulph James, Haley Nulph and Tyler Nulph; great-grandchildren, Abby, Carter, Jordon, Kaylan, Myah, Noah, Aliyah, Cole, Barron and one unborn great-grandson; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 11:30AM to 12:30PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, New Jersey 08533. A Funeral Service, along with a Masonic Service will begin at 12:30PM. Inurnment will follow at 2:00PM at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James’ honor to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, New Jersey 08053.
