Obituary of Nora J. Carotenuto

Nora J. Carotenuto, age 84, of East Petersburg PA and formerly of Whiting NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Conestoga View Nursing Home and Rehab in Lancaster PA. She was born in Wildwood NJ to the late George and Daisy (nee Jones) Rhody on July 1, 1933. Nora worked for many years as a spot welder for Allentown Wire. She had a passion for crocheting, and enjoyed playing games and cards with friends. Nora loved nothing more than spending time with her family and creating memories with them. She also adored her dog Buffy. Nora was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

 

Nora is predeceased by her parents, her husband Louis Carotenuto, her two brothers, George Rhody and John Rhody, and her sister Dorothy Osti.

 

She leaves behind her son Louis Carotenuto and wife Robin of East Petersburg PA; her two daughters, Deborah Carotenuto of Missoula MT and Linda Franz and husband Martin of Whiting NJ; her four siblings Lewis Rhody of NJ, Kenneth Rhody of TN, Sarah Huffstetler of PA and Ethel Armbrust of MN; her six grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1:00pm for a chapel service at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The cemetery is located at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown NJ 08562. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 (www.dav.org).
