Betty Jane (nee Danehower) Morrison, age 81, of Lakewood, NJ (Leisure Village East) died Thursday, February 14 at Seton Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Lakewood since 1998 and formerly of South Amboy. Betty Jane was a retired teacher from St. Mary’s School in South Amboy. She was a member of the Heritage Club and the Italian American Club both at Leisure Village East and she belonged to the Women’s Group at Kimball Hospital. She also enjoyed Bocce and Shuffle Board at Leisure Village East. Betty Jane was predeceased by her husband Robert Morrison. She is survived by a daughter, Joanie Abou-Samra and husband Moustapha of Ventura, CA; two sons, Jim Morrison and wife Debbie of Frenchtown, NJ and Jack Morrison and wife Sharon of Marble Falls, TX; two sisters, Doris Bavol and Pat Carroll both of Columbus, NJ; ten grandchildren, Omar, Leyla, Jason, Jamie, Patty, Christopher, Scott, Jonathan, Mark and Robbie and a great grandson, Moustapha. A Mass for Betty Jane will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery in New Egypt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty Jane’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
