Obituary of Sallie M. Kinzy

Sallie M. Kinzy, age 99, of New Egypt went home to be with her Lord on Friday, July 12, 2013. Born in Pointville, NJ on March 29, 1914, she lived most of her life in New Egypt. Sallie graduated from Allentown High School. She started working in Hirsch’s Factory in New Egypt, then went to the American Store. She was asked if she would like a job at the First National Bank in New Egypt, where she worked until her retirement in 1974 from the bank which was now the Bank of Mid-Jersey. Sallie was a member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, where she served as financial secretary and treasurer for many years. She was a very kind, considerate, loving and generous person who was a good friend and always put her family first. She never forgot a birthday or Christmas. Sallie was predeceased by her father, Charles W. McKaig and her mother, Carrie (Mullen) McKaig, her husband, Ivan E. Kinzy, her sisters, Carrie Ray Oakerson, Lila Lutes, Mabel Jacobs and Leah Robson and her nephew, Oscar Charles Oakerson. She is survived by her nieces, Shirley Waters, Mabel Trout (John), Vivian Crammer (Richard), Carolyn Jaeger (Tom), Sharon Bade (Robert), Donna Garrett (Bruce), Judy Tidd and Barbara Oakerson; several great and great-great nieces and nephews and her long time caregiver Nina. We wish to thank Caring Hospice for all of their support and help. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 15 at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Jacobstown Cemetery on Schoolhouse Road in Jacobstown. Memorial contributions in Sallie’s name may be made to the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 N. Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
