Obituary of Ruth G. Pullen

Ruth G. Pullen, 97 died peacefully at home in Mt. Holly, on Thursday May 22, 2014. She was born in Prospertown, NJ and was a Monmouth and Burlington county area resident her entire life. She graduated from Allentown High School and went on to work for General Motors, Eastern Aircraft Division during WWII where she worked on the Navy airplane, the Avenger. Ruth retired from the accounting department of Prodelin Corp. in 1979. She was a member of the Upper Freehold Baptist Church in Imlaystown; she enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Jennie (Crammer) and John Goff; she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, James E. Pullen; her son James E. Pullen Jr.; four brothers, Charles, Vernon, John and William Goff and a sister, Vera Harrison. Ruth is survived by two Daughters, Arlene Pullen of Mount Holly, and Lynn (Mitch) Cooper of Leander, TX; four grandchildren; James E. (Stephanie) Pullen III of Haledon; Debra (Dan) Caporale of Palmyra; Sandra Becker of Leander, TX; and Sheryl (David) McDevitt of Enfield, NH; nine great children; and one great- great grandson. Also surviving are two sisters; Dorothy Reynolds of New Egypt and Ann Kirsh of Monmouth County; and her brother Harvey A. Goff of Franklin, MS. Private funeral services for Ruth will be held on Saturday, May 24 at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery in Jacobstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
