Gerald E. “Jack” Murray, Jr., age 63, of New Egypt died Friday, June 6 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Milford, DE, he was a resident of New Egypt for the past 38 years. Jack served in the US Army from 1969 to 1970 and was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 455 in New Egypt. Jack was also a Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football coach for many years in New Egypt. He also enjoyed hunting & fishing and playing cards. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Edith (nee Hopkins) and Gerald E. Murray, Sr., a son, Daniel Jay Murray and Jack was also predeceased by his wife, Linda K. (nee Haluska) Murray in 2011. Jack is survived by two sons, Gerald E. “Jack” Murray III and Michael J. Murray and wife Kelly both of New Egypt; two brothers, Ronald Murray and wife Donna of Knoxville, TN and Neil Murray and wife Sara of Seaford, DE; three sisters, Pat Gillis and husband Glenn of Harrington, DE, JoAnn Mcllvain and husband Dennis of Milford, DE and Karen Gillespie and husband Wilson of Milford, DE; four grandchildren, Nikki Corp, Amanda Hearn-Murray, Zachery Murray and Skyela Pancoast; three great grandchildren, Kaylee Lopez, Mackenzie Corp and Liam Corp and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Jack will be held on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in Jacobstown Cemetery in Jacobstown.
