Obituary of Brenda Joy Luker

A greatly loved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Brenda Joy (Estelle) Luker, 57, of Browns Mills died peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2014 after a valiant fight against stage IV cancer for three years. She was born on March 24, 1957 in Plainfield, New Jersey. Brenda lived a very simple life and was always there to help others. Before retirement, Brenda was a bus driver for Pemberton Township School District and other surrounding school districts. She loved animals, a good yard sale, riding through the woods, and spending time with her family and close friends. Brenda is survived by her long time companion, Ray (Harry) Willitts; mother, Margaret Estelle; daughters, Kathy Luker of Wrightstown, Brenda (Shawn) McCormack of Maine, and Charlene Ahing of Browns Mills; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Faith, Matt, Shawn, and Charlie; and great-grandsons, Shawn III and David. Also, her sisters, Linda (Glen) Eden, Patricia (late Dennis) Perrine, and Sherry (Ted) Paetzold; brother, George (Pam) Estelle III; and many nieces and nephews. Her father, George Estelle, Jr., and husband, Charles Luker, preceded her in death. In keeping with the theme of helping others, Brenda has donated her body to a teaching institution to help others learn. A memorial service to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at The Peace Garden, located on South Lakeshore Drive (Arethusa Street) in Browns Mills. Per Brenda’s request, please dress casually. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Brenda’s name to The Burlington County Animal Shelter, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ, 08060. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com).
