John J. Trageiser, age 71, formerly of Hamilton Twp. passed away on Monday, October 6 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in East Orange, NJ. Born in Trenton, he lived in Hamilton Twp. before moving to the Veterans Home in Lyons, NJ three years ago. John was a 1961 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville and was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1964 to 1969 receiving the Marksman M-1 and Marksman M-14 medals and also the National Defense Service Medal. John was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna (Zimmer) Trageiser. He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Joanne and Randy Holden of Huddleston, VA and Rosemary and John Sanderson of Bluefield, WV; two nephews, Richard Scott, Jr. and Matthew Sanderson and three nieces, Tracie Simer, Amanda Holden and Whitney Fulton. Funeral and interment services for John will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road in Wrightstown, NJ with the viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com).
