Josephine R. Wolowitz, age 89, of Whiting, formerly of Old Bridge, passed away Saturday, January 10 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting. Josephine was a loving and devoted mother to her only daughter Rosemarie. She gave her the best life while raising her alone since her husband Ralph passed away when Rosemarie was only 3. She was a loving grandmother to her 5 grandchildren: Gina, Brian, Alfie, Ashley and Austin a loving sister to her late siblings May and Paul and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She worked for Western Electric in Kearney, NJ for many years until retiring in the 70's She loved spending time with her sister May and her cousin Josie! They were always together with their bee hive hairdo's (they were called "The Golden Girls") She also loved going to Atlantic City with her late husband Bob and they used to win the Jackpot quite often (Bally's Casino knew them well) Josephine and Bob also had lots of fun working together in the grocery stores giving out samples of new products to consumers. She also loved to cook and was a wonderful cook...Spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmesan, stuffed artichokes and Macaroni with Fish were among some of her specialties. She loved making dinners for her family and friends who would come over. She made quite a bit of beautiful treasures in her Ceramic Making years when she was younger She was also a good mom to her two cats Princess and Cindy who she missed and spoke of often while she spent her last years at the Crestwood Manor Nursing Home. Anyone who knew her knows that although she was a tough cookie, she would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it... She was a Funny Lady and will be greatly missed!
