Obituary of Marguerite Southard

Marguerite (nee Robbins) Southard, age 81, of Jacobstown passed away Wednesday, January 21 at Deborah Hospital in Browns Mills. Born in Upper Freehold Twp., she was a lifetime area resident. Marguerite was retired from the North Hanover Twp. Schools were she was employed as a cook. She was a member of the Cookstown United Methodist Church and enjoyed going to brunch on Sundays after church with her friends. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors but the most important thing in her life was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marguerite was predeceased by her husband, John Southard in 2010. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John and Karen Southard of South Carolina; a daughter, Patricia Forsyth of Mt. Laurel; a brother, Henry Robbins of Virginia; six grandchildren, David Forsyth and wife Ashley, Holly Breese and husband Robert, John Southard and wife Amy, Michelle Littlefield, Wyatt Southard and Sean Southard; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Marguerite will be held on Friday, January 30 at 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to cemetery restrictions, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marguerite’s memory may be made to the Jacobstown First Aid Squad, 41 Schoolhouse Road, Jacobstown, NJ 08562.
