Obituary of Maurice E. Adams

Maurice E. Adams, resident of Juliustown passed away quietly at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center on Saturday, March 7th after a brief illness. He was 83 years old. Maurice was born in Medford, NJ and during his life lived in Medford and Vincentown on the family’s dairy farms. He would milk the cows early morning and then help to deliver the milk before going to school. Maurice was a 1950 graduate of Pemberton High School. He worked for Charles B.Yerkes Chrysler and Plymouth dealership in Pemberton, operated an Esso gas station in Pemberton, worked at Tom Davis Auto Parts, Mt. Holly Auto Parts and lastly went back to work on the Emmons Dairy Farm as a tractor driver during farm tours. Maurice was a 65 year member of Vincentown Grange # 67, where he held several offices. He was the current President of Burlington County Pomona Grange #1, past New Jersey State Grange Deputy and a 7th degree member of the National Grange. During high school, Maurice was a member of the FFA. Maurice was a trustee/director of the Burlington County Farm Fair Association. In 1981, he was baptized during an Easter sunrise service and became a member to the Juliustown United Methodist Church. Maurice enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Saturday nights would be spent watching Lawrence Welk. He also enjoyed watching Bonanza, Gunsmoke, NCIS, the Dukes of Hazzard and Law & Order as well as old movies. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents W. Everett and Marion E. Adams and brother Ralph Adams. He is survived by Shirley O. Waters of Juliustown, his daughter Diann B. Wilson (Jeffrey) of Cherry Hill, Donna L. Waters of Juliustown and grandson Joseph R. Wilson (Adrien) of Cherry Hill. Maurice is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Ruth E. Bowker, Margorie (Margie) Simons (Paul), and Betty Conley of Southampton and L. John Adams of Tabernacle and James (Jimmy) Adams of Southampton. Maurice is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11th at 12 pm at the Juliustown United Methodist Church, 415 Main Street, Juliustown, NJ. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 9 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juliustown United Methodist Church, PO Box 195, Juliustown, NJ 08042 for the roof fund.
