Obituary of Katherine V. Dickert

Katherine V. Dickert, age 92, of Whiting, beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, friend, nurse and caretaker passed away on Saturday, April 18 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting after a brief illness. Katherine was born June 5th, 1922 in Johnson County TX to the late Hiram and Ethel Crow. She proudly served in the US Army as a First Lieutenant, serving as a nurse anesthetist during WWII and was a member of the Greatest Generation. She also worked as a Registered Nurse at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol PA for over 10 years. She lived in Whiting since 2000 and formerly lived in Yardley PA, where she was an active member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. Katherine was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Lee Hull, a pilot who was shot down in WWII; her second husband, Joseph J. Dickert Jr, a chemist; her parents, her daughter Joan and 9 siblings. She is survived by 6 children; John (Sherry), James (Cindy), Janet, Jeff (Tura), Jason (Holly) and Judy (Keith), 11 grandchildren; Andrya (Eric), Matthew, Emily, Lauren, Daniel, Nora, Kaitlin (Timothy), Timothy, Rachel, Zoe and Olivia and 3 great-grandchildren; Hannah, Jacob and Hayden, along with numerous other relatives and lifelong friends. Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 12:30PM at the Church of the Assumption Chapel, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Sunday evening, April 19, 2015 from 6PM to 8PM and again on Monday morning from 11AM to 12PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (Tilghmanfh.com). Burial will be on Thursday April 23, 2015 at 11AM at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown (please meet at the funeral home at 10:30AM to drive to the cemetery in procession). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Katherine’s name to the Knights of Columbus Assumption Council 10900 Scholarship Fund at PO Box 277 New Egypt, NJ 08533-0277.
