Obituary of Carolyn V. South

Carolyn V. South, of Cookstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Born in New Egypt to the late Carroll and Ruth Johnson, she has been a lifelong resident of the area. Carolyn was a dedicated member of the Bible Baptist Church in New Egypt and a member of the American Legion in New Egypt. She enjoyed baking, watching her grandchildren play sports and loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Patricia Bartholomew and her brother, Stanley Johnson. She leaves behind her loving husband of over 56 years Willard “Bucky” South; her two daughters, Jo Ann Dempsey and husband Frederick of ¬¬¬¬New Egypt and Diane Tracy of Cookstown; her six grandchildren, Michelle Mitchell, George Michael Bartholomew, Melissa Tracy, Richard Tracy, Mark Dempsey and Matthew Dempsey; three great-grandchildren, Jesse Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell and Kylee Mitchell; as well as her sister-in-law, Jean Johnson. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 7PM to 9PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com) and again on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. A funeral service will begin at 10:30AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Jacobstown Schoolhouse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, 1122 Clifton Avenue Clifton, NJ 07013.
