Obituary of John L. Mota
John L. Mota, age 84, of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. He was born in Carlisle, West Virginia on December 11, 1932 to the late John and RoseAnn Mota. He grew up in Sun, West Virginia with his 7 siblings. John enlisted in the US Army at the age of 13 and faithfully served his country until his retirement in 1976. After his military service, John worked and then retired from the US Postal Service in Trenton. He was a very respectful, honest and dignified man who kept a military style persona. John adored his wife Minnia, loved to travel and was a parishioner at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Jobstown. He also had a passion for farming, gardening, yard work, being outdoors and took great pride in his up kept and perfect lawn. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is predeceased by his parents, John and Roseann; his sisters Francis and Roseann and his son-in-law Luis. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Arminia “Minnia” Mota; his five children, John L. Mota, Jr. and wife Laura of Fayetteville, NC, MaryAnn Desantis and husband Anthony of Belleville, NJ, Deborah Diaz Grandados of Newark, DE, Lee Robert Mota and his wife Rebeccaand David A. Mota of Phoenix AZ; his brother Henry Mota; his five sisters, DeAnna Mota, Romona Gainey, Teresa Evans, Josephine O’Rourke and Patty Ann Clott; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-child and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2014 at 11AM at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 2489 Monmouth Road, Jobstown NJ 08041. Interment will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
