Richard P. Jette, age 81, of New Egypt, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. He was born on August 8, 1937 to the late George and Mary Jette (nee Dragon) in Spencer, Massachusetts. He moved to New Egypt in 1966 and planted roots here with his family. Richard held many titles working for Stanley Dancer Farms. He was a horse trainer, a groomer and a farm manager. He also worked for the Charles Fitzpatrick Farm in North Carolina, Walnridge Farm in Cream Ridge and White Birch Farm in Allentown. Richard enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Jette; and four of his siblings, Ronald Jette, Edward Jette, Lucille Demoss and Marie Letend.
He leaves behind his adored wife of 53 years, Martha Jette (nee Owens) of New Egypt; his son Paul Jette also of New Egypt; brothers, James Jette, Roger Jette and Emile Jette all of East Brookfield, MA; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Richard are being held private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, 42 Arneytown-Hornerstown Road, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, NJ.
