Mavis Joyce Pratt, age 81, passed away on June 8, 2020 at Aspen Hills Health Care Center in Pemberton, NJ. She was born in Clarendon, Jamaica on March 8, 1939. Mavis was a sweet, loving and caring mother and grandmother that was always willing to help others. She loved to cook and go to church. She attended Miracle Tabernacle Church in Brooklyn, NY for over 10 years. Mavis was very spiritual and devoted a lot of her time to assisting the church leaders with many functions. She enjoyed spending time watching her favorite shows on television and talking with friends. Mavis is survived by her two daughters; Patricia Smith and Novia James; her three grandchildren, Carlyon McCook, Analie Gaitor, and Dwyane Francis; her four great-grandchildren, Christopher Graham, Taj Davis, Tymir McCook, Quinnell McCook; her brother Jimmy Thomas; her sister Barbara Dickenson. She will be missed dearly by her surviving family and friends. Due to current restrictions, funeral services for Mavis are being held privately at the convenience of the family.
