Wanda A. Bekisz, age 89, of New Egypt died Saturday, January 12 at her home. Born in Passaic, NJ, she was a resident of Flushing, Queens, NY before moving to New Egypt six years ago. Wanda was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in New Egypt and formerly St. Ann?s Church in Queens. She is survived by her husband, Peter Bekisz of New Egypt; two daughters, Diana Lapiano of Garrison, NY and Marlene DeLuca and husband Phil of New Egypt; a son, Peter Bekisz and wife Lynn of Rochester, NY; a sister, Mary Yamroz of Elmwood, NJ; a former son-in-law, Joseph Lapiano of North Carolina; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 8:45 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 76 Evergreen Road in New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell, officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery in Flushing, Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards for Wanda would be appreciated.
