Ronald “Ron” Emerson McGonigal, 82, of Jobstown, NJ passed away on December 14th, 2020 from complications of pneumonia.
Ron was born on March 11th, 1938 to Roy and Gladys McGonigal in Johnsonburg, PA. At the age of 16 (1954), Ron moved to NJ to work for Walker Gordon Farms, where he met his future wife June Libby. June told “love at first sight” stories of their relationship. The couple was married on November 10th, 1958. In 1992, Ron retired from IBM and went to work for Fox Chase Farms where he did everything from answering phones to loading 100 pound seed bags, he cut grass for the company just this past season.
After 59 years of marriage to June, she passed away in on January, 27th, 2020 from a long battle with Dementia. Ron was there for her and took great care of her until her passing. He is now spending yet another Christmas with the love of his life in 2020.
Ron loved the outdoors and was a true Cowboy at heart- hunting, riding his horses, and just fiddling around the property were all things he did in years past. Ron attended and volunteered at Jobstown Community Bible Church as much as he could. He loved old county western movies, shows, music and western wear.
Ron leaves behind three siblings, Jane Bertles, Anita Rosiejka, and Warren McGonigal; Five Sons, Scott (Sherry), Todd (Sandy), Kenny (Stephanie), Ted, and Kurt McGonigal, 11 grandkids, 7 great-grandkids and numerous other family and friends.
Ron was a great guy and will truly be missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 11AM to 12PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 12PM. Ron will join his beloved June immediately following at the Princeton Memorial Park Cemetery in Robbinsville, NJ. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, facial coverings and social distancing are required with a maximum of 25 people in the funeral home at a time.
