Obituary of Helen M. Blunt

Helen M. Blunt (nee Harrington), age 80, of Cream Ridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, New Jersey. She was born in New York to the late Hubert and Helen Harrington on January 29, 1940. After graduating high school, Helen met the love of her life, Richard and the two were married in 1967. After settling in Manalapan, New Jersey, Helen and Richard had two sons. She loved being a mother and a wife and always took great pride in the upkeep and tidiness of her home, both inside and out. Helen worked as a Receptionist at the Freehold Savings Bank until her retirement in 2002. After her retirement, Helen and Richard moved to Cream Ridge, New Jersey. She was a devoted parishioner of the Church of the Assumption and would often volunteer for retreats and other church events. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed playing games on the computer and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend who will be deeply missed. Helen is predeceased by her parents. She leaves behind her adored husband of 53 years, Richard Blunt of Cream Ridge, New Jersey; her two sons, Richard D. Blunt Jr. and wife Stephanie of Jackson, New Jersey and Brian D. Blunt and wife Melisa of Randolph, New Jersey; her three grandchildren, Serena, Jessica and Ryan; by her sister, Sally Wallace of Toms River, New Jersey; along with several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4PM to 7PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11AM at the Church of the Assumption, located at 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Interment will be held private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Due to COVID 19, facial coverings and social distancing are required with a maximum of 25 people in the funeral home at a time.
