Obituary of Josephine C. "Josie" Parker

Josephine C. “Josie” Parker, age 76 of New Egypt passed away Friday, May 28 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Born in Trenton to the late Joseph and Bernice (Grant) Wolanin, she was a lifetime New Egypt area resident. Josie enjoyed trips to the shore, shopping, yard sales and taking care of her flowers and garden. She always celebrated every holiday with a special flag hanging at her house. Josie was known as the “Neighborhood Grandma” and proving that you don’t need to be blood related to be considered family. She was always there for everyone to tell you a story or joke, give you a hug or just to listen to you. To Josie her family was everything. She was a loving mom, grandmom, great grandmom, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all. Josie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Earl “Monk” Parker and a sister Dorothy Crammer. She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Butler and husband Donald of North Hanover Twp. and Lisa Lewis of Jacobstown; a son, Joseph Oesterling of New Egypt; a granddaughter, Karen Wasilewski of New Port Richey, FL; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Elizabeth Wasilewski; a sister, Patricia Wolanin of Pennington, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Josie will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at 12:00 Noon at the Jacobstown Cemetery, 28 Schoolhouse Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Josie’s name can be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P. O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 (www.deborahfoundation.org/donate/). Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt (www.TilghmanFH.com).
