Nicholas J. Gilbert, age 38, of Pennington for the past 8 years and formerly of Cookstown passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Trenton. He was born on October 14, 1982 in Willingboro, NJ to Ronald T. and Diana (nee Lenceski) Gilbert. Nick worked as a landscaper for Tassone Sons Landscaping. He graduated in 2001 from Northern Burlington Regional High School. Nick had a world, and his world was called “Dominic, my son “. He cherished all the moments spent in this world and filled them with fun and laughter. Whether they were watching professional wrestling together, hiking, jumping on trampolines, swimming, building up Dom’s courage to ride a 4 wheeler or building incredible Lego creations, Dom is what filled his world. Posting “cray cray” pictures of them both paid tribute to the love he had for his son. Nick loved to make people laugh. His friends say he chose to make everyone else’s smile his personal responsibility. He often accomplished this whether with family or friends by exhibiting his incredible talent of nearly perfect impersonations of family, friends or well known personalities, not to mention his breakdancing performances. Laughing until we cried he could put professional comedians to shame. Nick was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend that will be deeply missed and a living memory in the hearts of those who loved him. Nick was predeceased by his father, Ronald T. Gilbert and his brother, Johnny D. Gilbert. He leaves behind “his world”, his son Dominic Gilbert; his mother, Diana Gilbert and fiancé Steve Affleck; his beloved sister, Diana (Dee Dee) Brescia; his three nieces, Brittney Brescia, Kaitlin Brescia and Amanda Brescia; his maternal grandmother "Gramma Boo Boo Nose", Jacqueline Lenceski; sister Jeanne Wozunk and husband Joe; his two brothers, Ronald Gilbert Jr. and wife Linda and Duane Bruce and wife Trish. Graveside services for Nick will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Jacobstown Cemetery on Schoolhouse Road in Jacobstown.
