Obituary of Helga Lentine

Helga Lentine passed peacefully at home on Sunday, October 10, 2021. She was 81. With her loving husband, Michael, she lived at their farm in Cream Ridge, NJ for 20 years, and was a devout Catholic, avid gardener, and dedicated Mother and Grandmother.
Born Helga Schuchardt in Friedberg, Hessen, Germany, she immigrated to the U.S. at age 19. She married the late Robert Pasciuto in 1963, and had two daughters, Michele and Denise. Helga was a full partner in their H&R Pasciuto Stable, breeding, training and racing standardbred horses throughout the 1970s and 80s. She was a licensed official for the N.J. Racing Commission, serving in the track paddock at Freehold Raceway for decades.
Helga is survived by her husband, both daughters, four grandchildren, Harris, Hannah, Dustin and Brian (B.W.), three great granddaughters, two brothers in Germany, Klaus and Heinz Schuchardt, a niece who was more like a daughter, Elizabeth Purdie and husband George and many other family and friends.
A viewing for Helga will be held on Wednesday, October 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 14 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption – St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
