Rosa Pillar. (nee Pulido) McDonnell, 67, longtime resident of McGuire AFB and North Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Capital Health Medical Center, Trenton NJ. She was born on August 20, 1954 in Lima, Peru to Julio and Petronila Pulido. She met her childhood sweetheart, love of her life in 1963, married 14 years later, immediately became a military wife and started a family of their own. As a member of the military family Rosa lived in Columbus, MS, Mesa AZ, Ogden, UT, Colorado Springs, CO (twice), where she started her career in the food industry at Antonio’s Restaurant, and Wrightstown where she owned and operated Butter-Me-Bagels for six years. After closing the bagel store she worked at and became manager of BJ’s Wholesale Club Bakery in Hamilton for ten plus years. She finished her 42 year military family career then retired as a cook working at the Fort Dix dining facilities. Rosa was warm hearted and would do anything for anyone. She enjoyed cooking while dancing in the kitchen with her daughters. Her family was number one! Rosa was a “snowbird” who loved going to her Florida house during the winters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone she came in contact with. She is predeceased by her father, Julio Pulido; her brothers-in-law, Anthony Carratura, Edwin (Koby) Kobylarz and Walter McDonnell. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 44 years, Arthur McDonnell, Jr. of North Hanover; her four children, Erin McDonnell and wife Maggie Shaffer of North Hanover, Arthur McDonnell, III. and wife Megan of Warwick, NY, Kari McDonnell of North Hanover, and Alyssa McDonnell of Lumberton; her four granddaughters, Caylin, Rylee, Karsyn, and Melany; her mother Petronila Pulido of North Hanover, and her three siblings, Oscar Cruz and Maritza Carratura of Kearny and Maria Kobylarz of Rutherford; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. A funeral service for Rosa will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 7:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
