Obituary of Phyllis Foulks

Phyllis Foulks, age 91, of Jacobstown passed away Monday, January 3 at home. Born in Trenton to the late Charles J. and Mary (Pittman) Dancer, she was a lifetime area resident except from 1952 to 1963 when she lived in Hamilton Square.
Phyllis had worked as a cook for the North Hanover Township School District. She was a longtime member of the New Egypt United Methodist Church. Phyllis enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. She was also an avid New York Mets fan and enjoyed watching her granddaughters play softball.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Charles R. Dancer; two brothers-in-law, Lester Johnson and Walter Spengler and her beloved husband Charles Russell “Russ” Foulks. She is survived by a son, John Foulks and wife Karen of New Egypt; a daughter, Valerie Carlisle and husband Thomas of Easton, PA; three grandchildren, Rebecca Wasilewski, Sara Foulks and Bryan Carlisle and wife Candice; two great grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Wasilewski; two brothers, David Dancer and wife Barbara of Gloucester, MA and James Dancer of Georgia; two sisters, Shirley Spengler of Naples, FL and Carol Johnson of New Egypt; a sister-in-law, June Dancer of Hilton Head, SC and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Saturday, January 8 at 12:00 Noon at the Atkinson Hall of the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 9 Fort Avenue, New Egypt, NJ 08533. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until noon at Atkinson Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phyllis’ name can be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home in New Egypt.
