Obituary of Joan A. Crain

Joan A. Crain, age 77, of New Egypt passed away Saturday, January 29 at her residence. Born in Trenton, she was a lifetime New Egypt area resident. Joan was very involved and devoted to her lifelong passion of her family's Standerbred horse business. She also loved all animals and any type of wildlife. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin who will be missed by all. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Carolyn (Bell) Dancer; a son, Drew Dancer Crain and a brother-in-law, Murell Parker. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Shanko and husband Michael of New Egypt; two brothers, Vernon Dancer, Jr. and wife Mary of New Egypt and Donald Dancer and wife Yolanda of Marlboro; a sister, Joyce Parker of New Egypt; five grandchildren, Josh Braskett and fiancée Allison Olcott, Ashley Sonday and husband Greg, Jesse Braskett, Michael Shanko, Jr. and wife Kelsy and Bill Shanko and wife Amanda; six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Joan will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 12:00 Noon at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with burial to follow in the Jacobstown Cemetery on Schoolhouse Road in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until noon at the funeral home.
