Shirley V. Carpenter, was called to heaven on February 2, 2022 at the age of 81. She was born on June 21, 1940 in Mount Holly to the late Norman and Dorothy (nee Van Camp) Emmons. Shirley was a lifetime member of Burlington County. She retired working for Pemberton Township School District. Shirley was a member of Christian Fellowship Church of New Egypt. She enjoyed going camping & reading. Her true passion in life was family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend that will be deeply missed. Shirley is predeceased by her beloved husband, Wilbur Carpenter; her parents Norman and Dorothy Emmons, her two sisters, Barbara Cutts, and Linda Dunard. She leaves behind her two children, Mark Carpenter of Browns Mills, and Sheryl League of Browns Mills; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Brian, Dylan, Julia, Jessica, Teresa, and Samantha; her sixteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Norman “Butch” Emmons; and her three sisters, Carol McAleer, Betty Nicholson, and Dora Anderson. Services for Shirley are being held privately at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ. A celebration of life is planned for 3pm Saturday, February 12th at the VFW in Mt.Holly.
