Pauline Laura Carroll (nee DiRico) 90, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022. Pauline was born in the Bronx, New York on March 29, 1932 to Fannie DiRico (nee Zarlenga) and Vincenzo DiRico. Pauline attended the New York School of Music where she graduated in 1950. She then met the love of her life, Mike (Mickey) Carroll who had just returned from WWII and they were married in 1951. Pauline and Mike moved to Old Tappan, New Jersey where they lived for over 45 years and raised their three children (Linda, Michael and Dianne). Pauline moved to NC in 2009 where she lived for the rest of her life. Pauline was predeceased by her mother, Fannie DiRico (Zarlenga), her brother, Rocco DiRico, her father Vincenzo DiRico, her sister Ann DiRico, her beloved husband Michael Joseph Carroll and her son Michael John Carroll. She is survived by her daughters Linda Jackle and Dianne Parrish (Will Hinkston), her grandchildren Lora Jackle (Greg Milne), Matt Jackle (Miranda), Ashley Carroll and Katelyn Carroll (Michael Tharrington), her great grandchildren Maria Jackle, Carter Jackle, Riley Milne, Abigail Milne and Logan Jackle and her granddaughter and great granddaughters in heart Jackie, Arielle and Raena Yekpabo. Pauline had several jobs during her lifetime including insurance, word processing and a dentist office where she worked until she was 77. She could also be found volunteering at various facilities, attending a multitude of craft classes, sitting at any stage musical she could find, playing cards and Mahjongg and being extremely active in her church. She loved tennis and golf and spending the winters with her husband after he retired on Hilton Head Island. She loved her family, her friends, her church and her country. She really enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren any time she could. She also loved all of her granddogs. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Transitions Life Care of Raleigh. The staff, including Jean, Susan, Donna and many others were so supportive to her and her family during her final months. The family would also like to thank Sunrise of Cary for making her final days here as comfortable and as peaceful as possible. Pauline will be dearly remembered and sorely missed. A service will be held at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2:00-4:00pm. A mass will be held to celebrate Pauline’s life at St. Michaels the Archangel Catholic Church (High House Rd., Cary) on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 11:00am. Pauline will be laid to rest with her husband Mike at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd, Wrightstown, NJ on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. A prayer service will be held at Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08533 at 10am followed by interment at the cemetery.
